Shocked by the cost of parking a car in Boston, Betty started commuting to work by bike in 1972. She's continued commuting to work by bicycle until she retired in 2015. These local trips ignited her wanderlust and she started bicycle touring. She's traveled by bike throughout the US and Europe. She also volunteers for all things bike in Rhode Island.
